HVAC technician license or certification is not required in Georgia

Georgia offers two levels of licensing:

  • Contractor Class I Conditioned Air — 175,000 Btu of heating and 5 tons of cooling
  • Contractor Class II Conditioned Air — unrestricted

Steps to obtain a license:

  2. A minimum of three years experience installing
    systems in the class license you apply for is required.  Approved education can be substituted for
    some of the experience.
