Federal law requires EPA 608 Certification
HVAC technician license or certification is not required in Georgia
Georgia offers two levels of licensing:
- Contractor Class I Conditioned Air — 175,000 Btu of heating and 5 tons of cooling
- Contractor Class II Conditioned Air — unrestricted

- A minimum of three years experience installing
systems in the class license you apply for is required. Approved education can be substituted for
some of the experience.
